I am a geologist interested in mineralogical studies and pollution assessment of areas affected by mining activities. My research focuses on environmental issues – understanding the key sources, physical and geochemical processes that affect soils and sediments quality. The specific areas of interest include: (1) the assessment of contaminated sites resulted from mining activities; (2) the evaluation of adsorption processes or concentrations of trace elements in detrital material; (3) investigation of heavy minerals assemblage typical for placer deposits; (4) environmental risk evaluation and safety assessment by using multiple analytical techniques.
